Techtoria - The First Online Event of My club

‘TECHTORIA v1.0’ – a Webmaker online event conducted by our Club (Coherent) at UIT-RGPV,BHOPAL , From 16 oct to 25 oct 2015.The event saw a whooping participation of around 80 students from overall MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA.

The motive of the event was to provide web literacy in my region and also to provide the platform where people can show there creativity by making MAKES w/o coding.

The event started on 16 oct 2015 with a online hangout session on Webmaker Android application. How to use it and how to create a app w/o coding. The session was conducted by Vaibhav Bajaj who is a Mozilla rep from Bhopal region. He teached them how to make new make or to remix the the already prepared make. He also discussed the difference between creating apps with code and w/o code. After that it was time for us to make a tutorial for the people who have not attended the online teaching session, so our Lead(kushagra) took the responsibility for making the online video tutorial. in tutorial we told them about the Webmaker mobile app with the live demos how to create and how to publish and share your make with everyone.
Then after we organized a competition from 17 oct to 25 oct 2015 where people have to prepare a creative, unique and a useful app using Webmaker mobile application and the best make will be awarded with the Mozilla swag.

As this was our first online event and it ended successfully. I am thankful to Vaibhav Bajaj and kushagra for his support in the event.

Its was for the first time that we have participated in the campaign conducted by Mozilla. This camp was to grow download of Firefox in Indian languages. I thank my lead KUSHAGRA VARADE for organizing the campaign inside the campus so as to make everyone aware about the l10n contribution field. I also thank to Umesh Sir and Vaibhav Sir for there support in this event.

Topics that has been covered in the event:

• Why Firefox is better than other
• Firefox facts (Comes in 89 languages)
• Demonstrated the Firefox hello feature.
• Also told them about “Do Not Track Me

The campaign started with brief introduction of Mozilla. What does Mozilla means what its mission. We also discussed about the FSA club and its Structure. With this our team has also organized an interactive Moz Quiz followed up with the general question related to Mozilla and its products

After this it was time for us to grow the downloads. Our lead(Kushagra) asked all the attendees to start download the browser from mzl/la/fxhindi and explore the sites on the browser.Also shared advantage of having a browser in our language.

The campaign ended up with the refreshment organized by our club. I thank my lead for conducting this camp inside the campus and spreading the knowledge of l10n.

AVENSIS 2K15

(10 & 11 September 2015)

Coherent at UIT, the FSA club of UIT-RGPV Bhopal conducted their second event, AVENSIS. It all started with great enthusiasm and huge amount of participation. This was a closed campus event conducted at UIT-RGPV and the students of different trade participated in it.
The event was made up with the cooperation and great support of all the people included in the event the lead, the speaker, the volunteer and the participants who took part in it and made it a great success!

Introduction to FSA prog and Firefox OS

The event was attended by the people belonging to Computer Science and Information Technology trade. So, the basic idea of the event was to educate the people about open source and about the open web. This part of session was conducted by our lead KUSHAGRA VARADE who is an active mozillian from bhopal

Introduction to Open Source
  It was time for the student to learn about the open source technology. Our club member Yashwardhan Pauranik took the responsibility to make every one aware about open source.The session started up with the introduction to source. What does source means then conducted with what is is Open source and Closed source technologies. We told them about Open source and close source technology with the examples (Companies which work on open source and closed source). Then we did a fantastic session what is use of making your code open. Then after we discussed some open source product (FXOS)



Understanding Gaia, Gonk & Gecko
  Our Lead again came to action with the session, session was centered with the teaching of FXOS and app development but before developing the app we must know the OS Arch. So the Speaker Kushagra Varade took the session on Arch and layers of FXOS and told attendee about how each and every layer works.

Introduction to market place:

After the introduction to FXOS by KUSHAGRA  its time to introduce them with the market place how does the apps get hosted and how you can put your app on marketplace. Kushagra also told them how to access market place using simulator. Wait did i just said simulator did i mentioned this or told about this to my attendees, So it time to introduce them what is simulator and how it works.


Introduction to FXOS simulator:
Kushagra started the session with what does simulator actually means. Then how we can get or what are the steps to download the simulator and how its works. We also told them how to build an app using simulator and web IDE. Then it was the time for us to introduce to WoMoz what does this mean. The session was carried by the coherent WoMoz Head Sakshi rajput.

WoMoz Introduction:
The session was centered all the womens all around the world. We also told them why there was need to run Womoz. In the session she (Sakshi) discussed about the myths and facts available about women. She (Sakshi) also told them what is women power and how they can also help in building the technology .

Finally it was time for our maker party where the students of our campus were ready to learn, teach and share there views on technologies. The maker party was awesome and it was a great experience in organizing such a great event.
